2011 (twelve years old)
I first heard about One direction in 2011, after they just
released their debut single "What makes you beautiful" and announced, that they were working on an album.
Back then I was a 12-year-old girl who enjoyed gymnastics, sometimes liked to
play the guitar and had a decent amount of friends.
I remember seeing them on
Television, which was at “Red or black?” show, where they performed “What makes you beautiful” for the first time.

Although it was the cheesiest, bubblegum-pop you can imagine, I instantly started to like the song and singers.
I watched the performance after school at my friends' house. My friend, however, did not seem to share my position and so I ended up keeping my opinion
about One Direction to myself. I even pretended to not like them at all. In a way, I was very insecure back then and afraid to defend my interests.
2012 (thirteen years old)
One night at a sleepover, a good friend of mine showed me
this one acoustic cover of a song that I haven’t heard in a long time. Liking the song, and especially this version, I was head over heels for these guys.
